Reyes "Guti" Gutierrez, Jr., born on July 31, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2026 at the age of 78. A 1966 graduate of Fox Tech High School. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Navy from June of 1966 to December of 1969 aboard the USS Patapsco (AOG-1). He was a retired mechanic, having worked for VIA for over 30 years. He was a huge fan of both the Cowboys and the Spurs. He is preceded in death by Gloria Guantes Gutierrez, his wife of 33 years, mother Carmen R. Gutierrez, father Reyes A. Gutierrez, and sister Isabel Gutierrez Vasquez. He is survived by his daughter Delia Gutierrez, "son" Anthony Randolph S. Perez, son Reyes Gutierrez III, and granddaughters JoAna Rey Isabella Perez, Veronica Analia Perez and Dana (Gutierrez) McClure; brothers Hilario Gutierrez and David Gutierrez; sisters Teresa DeWitz, Guadalupe Smith, Reina Claudio, Mary L. Vargas, Irene Kelly, Alicia Gonzales, Carmen Calloway, Beatriz Gutierrez, and Lydia Sparks. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday March 11, 2026 at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N. General McMullen, San Antonio, TX 78228 with a Celebration of Life at 6:30 pm Wednesday night. Visitation on Thursday March 12, 2026 will begin at 8:00 am with the funeral service at 10:00 am, interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. 3. We invite you to wear a Cowboys, Spurs or military shirt to the viewing and/or interment, as a tribute to our father's/grandfather's laid back personality.
