Reymundo “Ray” Moreno, Popo, 91, of San Antonio, Texas, born March 21, 1935, in LaCoste, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on August 10, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry “Genaro” Moreno, mother, Margarita “Maggie” Moreno, his beloved wife, Lydia Moreno, his daughter, Dolores Moreno, his partner, Ruth Tellez, and his siblings, Trinidad “Trine” Moreno, Victor Moreno, Gumesindo "Gomez" Moreno, Pedro “Pete” Moreno, Anselma Zapata, Pauline Soto, and Antonia Delgado.
He is survived by his daughters Esther Moreno and Irma Paiz; grandchildren, Amanda (Russell Pence), Ernest Martinez, Tyler Lamb (Laura Pena), Olivia Paiz and Victoria Paiz; great-grandchildren, Cayden Pence, Paisley Pence and Russell Pence Jr.; son Robert Raymond Gutierrez and children Joanne, Robert, Gilbert, and Danny; Vicky Ibarra and the Tellez family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
Reymundo began working at a young age to help support his family. Throughout his life, he remained devoted to providing for and caring for his loved ones. He worked for Sigmor, Inc. and Mr. Tom Turner Sr. (TETCO) for many years. He often shared stories about how they met, how he began working for him, and the many adventures and memories he made throughout his years with Mr. Turner and TETCO. His time there was clearly a meaningful part of his life, and he cherished the memories and friendships he made along the way. A special thank you to the Turner family for being such an important part of Reymundo’s life.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Rick Ward and Genoveva “Bebe” Ruiz. He would always say how much he appreciated you, and how you were his best friends.
Our Popo will forever be remembered by his family and all those who were fortunate enough to know him. His love, kindness, and the memories he created with those around him will remain in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who loved him. Though he is no longer with us, his love and legacy will live on through our family for generations to come.
A reception will be held after the burial on August 27th, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 4 pm at:
