Ricardo Lucero, age 86, died peacefully April 24, 2021.

Mr. Lucero was preceded in death by his wife Hortence and son Joseph Michael.  He is survived by his children: Richard, Theresa, Alexis, Jeovanni, Chelsea, and Dominic.  And grandchildren: Elyssa, Michael, David, Stephanie, Kristen, and Jessica.

Ricardo is a veteran who served honorably in the Air Force for 24 years, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant.

Ricardo's prior service played a pivotal role in his life. After retirement he took his core values of leadership, discipline, and service to others and joined the Sheriff's Department. He served as the Undersheriff of Chaffee County in Salida, CO.

Castillo Funeral home will host services May 23 at 2:30pm. Following a military funeral on May 25, he will be interred with his wife at Ft. Sam Houston.
