Ricardo Martinez Jr., 57, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, after a brief illness.

His children and family were by his side.

Richard was born on January 27, 1968, in San Antonio, TX, to Ricardo Martinez Sr. and Lilly Zapata.

He is survived by his children, Richard Rene Martinez, Jimmy Lee Garza, Samantha A.

Garcia, Stephanie Martinez, and Sky Martinez; thirteen grandchildren; his mother, Lilly Zapata; stepfather, Santiago Zapata; brothers, Michael Martinez, Ventura Tijerina, and Frank Zapata; and sister, Zita Martinez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ricardo Martinez Sr., and brother Santiago Zapata Jr. (Jimmy)

Richard enjoyed going fishing, spending time with his family and friends, but his greatest joy was to spend time with his grandchildren and his two dogs, Moxy and Bella, whom he loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held on June 23, 2024, at Castillo Funeral Home, located at

Burial will follow at 10 am on June 24, 2025, at San Jose Burial Park, located at 8235
