Ricardo R. Martinez-Rubio, 78, of Del Rio, Texas, passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas on Monday, October 7, 2024. He was born July 4, 1946 in Etzatlán, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father Tomas Martinez, mother Maria Rubio, and grandson Alec M. Martinez.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Maria Del Carmen Martinez, daughters Cynthia Espinoza (Orlando), Mary Lu Paredes (Armando), and son Juan R. Martinez (Marissa). He is also survived by his grandchildren Cristina Espinoza (Gustavo Trevino), Orlando Espinoza Jr., Anthony Rey Avalos, Irma B. Saenz-Martinez, Sarah E. Martinez, Ruben A. Saenz Jr., Adrian A. Martinez, great grandson Issac Andres Trevino, his beloved dogs Chispita and Paloma, and his brother Humberto Martinez.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a noble heart and didn't hesitate to help others. He worked for many years as a United States Postal Service Contractor and also maintained his own small business of fixing jukeboxes and pool tables. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, singing, playing the guitar, as well as spending time gardening and drinking grandpa cokes. You could always find him outside feeding his birds, cats and dogs.

He will forever live in our hearts.
