Richard A.
Garcia
December 5, 1947 – February 10, 2022
Richard A. Garcia Sr. went to be with our lord on February 10, 2022, at the age of 74.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Saragosa S. Garcia; parents, Juan and Maria Salome Garcia; grandson, Paul Anthony Juan Gutierrez; and brother, Alfredo Garcia Sr.
He is survived by his children, Jeanette Gutierrez (Tony Carbaugh), Cynthia San Miguel (Oscar San Miguel), and Richard Garcia Jr. (Angie Garcia); his adopted children, Destiny Garcia and Xavier Garcia; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Janie Carvajal, Patricia G. Martinez (Richard Triano), and Anna Garcia (Joe Cortez).
Richard was born on December 5, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Juan and Maria Garcia. He accomplished so many incredible things in life, but he especially loved his family and the memories made together with them. Richard and his late wife Saragosa shared 52 wonderful years together. Richard was really the ultimate husband and father full of love, support, encouragement, and guidance. Richard served proudly for the United States Army where he ultimately retired after 20 years. While in the Army he served in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds as he was someone who would help anyone in need. He inspired those around him to be a better person. Richard enjoyed spending time doing puzzles, Lego builds, and working on model cars. He could be found watching wrestling matches or a good game of football; his team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was devoted to his faith and family and brought immense joy to those around him. We loved his caring ways, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Words cannot express the feeling in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.
