Richard R. Gomez entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born on October 29, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas. Richard cherished his family and enjoyed creating memories that now the family will treasure for lifetimes to come. He was a dedicated husband to his wife Hilda Gomez sharing many wonderful years together including 16 years of formal marriage.  He was lucky in life and enjoyed to gamble buying scratch off tickets and playing football pots. Richard was a devoted Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan. He loved to cheer for his favorite teams whether they won or lost. Richard will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him. He is reunited in heaven with his parents Armando and Herminia Gomez, brothers Danny, Armando and Gilbert Gomez and sister Josie Garza. The blessing of Richard's memory lives on in the hearts of his devoted wife Hilda, daughter Valerie, grandchildren Victoria, Jonah and Vincent Valdez, nieces and nephews Erica, Rudy, Henry Jr, Jose Luis, Sonia, Lizzy, Gilbert and Daniel plus numerous extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. that evening. On Friday, August 23, 2024, there will be a formal funeral home departure after a 10:00 a.m. Chapel Service. Interment to follow at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery III.
