MSGT (Retired) Robert Shaw Hill, son of Christ and a beloved husband and father, joined the angels and saints on August 18, 2026. He was 89 years old and was born to John Henry Hill and Georgia Dewey Hill on January 10, 1937 in Huntsville, Alabama.

A patriot, who loved GOD and our beautiful country, he proudly served over 20 years in the U.S. Marines and U.S. Air Force. He served during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. A true hero, he used his skills to save the lives of several individuals during his military career. While serving as a training instructor, he met the love of his life, Enriqueta Narvaiz whom he married in 1964. They remained married for over 62 years until his death.

He earned his B.A. and M.A. at St. Mary’s University and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes. His children, Robert Shaw Hill, Jr. and daughter, Dr. Melissa E. Hill offer thanksgiving to GOD for giving them a wonderful earthly father who exhibited attributes of our Glorious Heavenly Father. Robert was his family’s protector, provider, who was slow to anger, forgiving, and rich in kindness. He has multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is loved by his family and will be dearly missed.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the Homebound Eucharistic Ministers for their weekly visits to bring Holy Communion. We also thank the holy priests from Our Lady of Guadalupe Helotes, St. Cecilia’s, and the Little Flower Basilica for their abundant blessings, anointings, and prayers. Our cup overflows with gratitude to the many souls who have offered their spiritual support and condolences.

Visitation begins at 4:00 pm on Monday, August 31st at Castillo Funeral Home. The Rosary follows at 6:00 pm and will be presided by Deacon Harry Cruz.

Holy Mass will be presided by Father Luke Jose and is scheduled to be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Helotes on Tuesday, September 1st at 9:30 am. Music will be provided by Ms. Cheryl Chladek.

Burial with full military honors is scheduled at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on September 1st at 11:30 am and will be presided by Deacon Bill Thornberry.

The Celebration of Life reception is scheduled for 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 1st at the Texas Star Inn.
