Robert Méndez Rivera, nuestro amado patriarca, entró en su eterno descanso el 24 de febrero de 2024, rodeado del calor y amor de su familia. Nació el 18 de marzo de 1949 en San Antonio, Texas. Fue un devoto esposo, padre, abuelo, hermano y amigo. Robert deja un profundo legado de amor y recuerdos preciados. Robert Méndez Rivera y Margarita se casaron el 26 de mayo de 2001; este año habría sido su 24 aniversario. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Margarita Rivera Rodríguez; Hermano, Óscar Rivera; Hermana, Linda Ann Rivera; hijos, Robert Rivera (Shirley Rivera), Armando Rivera (Cynthia Rivera) y Edward Rivera; hija, Melissa Weatherington (Tony Weatherington); hijastro, Guillermo Armendáriz (Gina Armendáriz) y Cesar Armendáriz; y nietos/nietas. Robert Méndez Rivera, our beloved patriarch, entered his eternal rest on February 24, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He was born on March 18, 1949, in San Antonio, Texas. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Robert leaves behind a profound legacy of love and cherished memories. Robert Méndez Rivera and Margarita were married on May 26, 2001; this year would have been their 24th anniversary. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margarita Rivera Rodriguez; Brother, Oscar Rivera; Sister, Linda Ann Rivera; sons, Robert Rivera (Shirley Rivera), Armando Rivera (Cynthia Rivera), and Edward Rivera; daughter, Melissa Weatherington (Tony Weatherington); stepson, Guillermo Armendáriz (Gina Armendáriz) and Cesar Armendáriz; and grandsons/granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his father, Eliazar Rivera; mother, Agapita Méndez; brothers, Roger Rivera, Richard Rivera, David Rivera, Armando Rivera, and Elías Rivera. Robert found immense joy in the company of his dogs and cherished moments with his grandchildren. He loved attending family gatherings, where he would BBQ, and they would call him Mr. Wonderful. Robert, a brave and loving father, steadfastly supported his children through every challenge, serving as an example of resilience and hard work for the Texas State Department. His vibrant spirit and love will be sorely missed by his immediate family, brother, sister, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services include a visitation on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Castillo Funeral Home. Mass will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church, leaving Castillo Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. The interment will take place in San José Cemetery. We profoundly appreciate your presence and support during this time. May Robert Méndez Rivera rest in eternal peace.
