Roberto Salinas
Villarreal
November 27, 1945 – October 15, 2022
Roberto Salinas Villarreal went to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the blessed age of 76.
He was born on November 27, 1945 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and was the last surviving child to Maria and Regino Villarreal.
Roberto and his beloved wife Lydia shared a love like no other for 49 years. He recalled seeing Lydia while riding on his motorcycle and knew he wanted to marry her.
Roberto maintained facilities at Bexar County Hospital and proudly retired after 35 years. He didn't quite find himself at home afterwards so he took employment at SeaWorld. He was a hard-working man who instilled great values in his 4 children.
In 1986, after good morals and hard work he proudly and officially gained his Naturalized Citizenship.
He really enjoyed listening to Tejano music and adored listening to it all the time especially when the family got together. He loved to keep family and friends updated with the weather. His special way to say, "I love you, Be careful". He was a wonderful man of great jokes and funny stories, he would share with even strangers he had just met. He loved to talk to everyone and anyone. He truly will be missed by all that he touched with his beautiful soul.
Roberto is preceded in death by his mother Maria De La Luz Villarreal; father, Regino Villarreal; son Richard Villarreal; brothers, Ramiro, Ernesto, and Enrique and sister, Graciela; and 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia; sons, Robert (Jodi) and Joe Anthony (Frances) Villarreal; and daughters, Mary Jo (Richard) Huerta and Julie (Kenneth) Click; and his 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 3:30 pm at Castillo Funeral Home, with a small service to honor him at 6:00 pm. For those wishing to give a gift in his memory, it can be sent to Castillo Funeral Home.
