Obituary

Rudy "Wero" Cardoza was born on August 11, 1984. He passed away on March 27, 2024, at the age of 39. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jose De Los Santos, his uncle, Edward De Los Santos, his niece Aubriella Gutierrez-Cardoza, his Father-in-law, Rudy Calderon, his nephew, Jacob Calderon, and of course his best friend and dog Tiny. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Calderon-Cardoza, and his 3 Children, Rudy Jr, Nyasia and Isaiah, and his 2 dogs, Pappy and Pablo, his father and mother, Saul and Edna Cardoza, his brother Jose "Nuni" Cardoza and sister Vanessa Cardoza, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces who loved him very much. Wero and his brother grew up very close and share a lot of fond memories together with their grandparents, "Mami" and "Papi". One of the happy memories he would always talk about was spending time with "Papi" while watching him work as a Sheep Shearer. Wero started working at the young age of 12 in Masonry with his father and brother, where they spent time traveling from Texas to Memphis. Shortly after, he met his wife, whom he spent 27 years with. When he discovered he was going to become a father, he was ecstatic at the idea of getting to raise a family and always wanted to continue having more children. He always supported the different hobbies and extra-curricular activities his children had and was always involved. He attended many basketball games, soccer games, and countless dance recitals. He was the greatest and proudest "Dance Dad". He absolutely loved traveling with his family in support of his daughter's dance career. He was always quick to help with shows and recitals for his dance family. Wero loved music. One of his favorite hobbies was making music & performing alongside his brother at different venues. Wero loved spending time with his family during "get togethers" at his mom and dad's home barbecuing and talking about memories. He also loved being a big brother to his younger sister. Some of his most memorable qualities is his love for animals. He was always fostering stray animals and seeking out homes for them. If it were up to him, he would have housed all the stray animals in the world. Wero loved to cook & was very good at it, everyone loved eating his famous beans, and if you ever had the chance to taste them you would also agree how delicious they were. Wero loved spending his free time working on his car and improving his sound system, as everyone knew it was him when he was driving up around the corner. Wero had a very big heart and was always eager to help others with whatever they needed. He was what you would call a jack of all trades. If you needed something fixed, or even if you needed a new sound system in your car, he was the guy you would call. Wero was a protector to his family, loved by many and will be greatly missed for his big heart.
