Rodolfo L.
Leal
September 1, 1941 – July 9, 2023
Rodolfo L Leal, 81, went to be with the Lord on Sunday night, July 9, 2023, at his residence in LaCoste, TX. He was born on September 1, 1941, in San Antonio Texas, a son of the late Adela Ybarra and Esteban Leal.
Prior to his retirement he worked many years as a paint and body technician with many well-known dealerships; Red McCombs, Jordan Ford and Ancira-Winton. Rodolfo enjoyed many hobbies, especially painting on canvas with acrylic paints, sketch drawings and woodworking. He especially enjoyed buying lottery tickets and visiting casinos where he could play on the slot machines.
As a father he was protective and nurturing, always valuing the needs of his children above his own. As a grandfather he was playful and supportive, always going that extra mile to bring a smile to their faces. He was a joy to all those who knew him and made impressions that will forever be remembered and missed. While his loss is incomprehensible, his family is grateful for the years they had with him and know someday everyone will be reunited.
In addition to his parents Adela Luna Ybarra and Esteban Leal, he is also preceded in death by a brother Jose Leal and and son in law, John Diaz Sr.
Family members include his children Rudy Leal Jr (Renee), Sandra Lopez, Mary Helen Diaz, Diana G. Moralez (Jerry), Michael Leal (Juanita), and Laura Ochoa (Jesse); 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; wife, Mary Ann Leal; in addition to a nephew, numerous nieces and extended family and friends.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for visitation and a rosary service at 6:00 pm at Castillo Funeral Home.
A funeral mass will be conducted on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 10:00 am in St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Fernando III Catholic Cemetery
