Obituary

Rogelio "Roger" Gallardo entered peacefully into eternal rest on December 20, 2023 surrounded by his family. Roger, a cherished son, remarkable brother, adored uncle and true friend, left an indelible mark on all our hearts.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Isabel and Manuela Gallardo, siblings: Nelly (Erich) Strey, Nancy (Jason) Limon, Hector (Melissa) Gallardo, Elizabeth Fernandez and Luis Miguel (Esmeralda) Gallardo. Uncle Roger leaves behind 18 nieces and nephews.

Roger is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pedro and Josephina Gallardo, maternal grandparents Margarito and Concepcion Perez, as well as uncles Hector Mata, Luis Angel Perez and Jose Gallardo.

Roger's warmth, kindness, intelligence, and dedication was felt by everyone who knew him. Although a man of little words he doted on his family and shared wise words with his nieces and nephews. Roger possessed a heart of gold and a gentle soul.

Roger was an enthusiast of fashion, fragrance, cars, and art. He took pride in his physique and enjoyed working out, weight lifting and playing flag football with friends. Roger was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers, San Antonio Spurs, and Tigres de Monterrey, N.L.. He enjoyed hosting/watching boxing with friends and family and was always ready to cheer on his favorite boxer, Canelo Alvarez. Roger's beloved dog, Roxy, shared in his affections. His love for Roxy was never-ending. She was truly his best friend.

A graduate of Thomas Edison High School, Roger was proud of his Alma Mater and even long after graduating you would occasionally catch him sporting his letter man jacket. After graduation he earned double major Associate Degrees and numerous certificates.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Methodist Hospital staff for their exceptional care and compassion, as well as PBC agents for their special memories of our brother and  Spectrum Communications and their dedicated team for their kindness and support during this difficult time. Roger, you will forever reside in our memories and hearts. As he enters into eternal rest may he feel the embrace of unending love and Amazing Grace.

The family invites you to his visitation at Castillo Funeral Home, on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m with a Prayer Service to be recited at 6pm. Services conclude that evening.
