Rogelio Martinez was a fun loving family man who was always ready to crack a joke to up lift people's spirits. He was an amazing father who loved his children and family very much. Rogelio was a tough man and he showed tough love but under all that toughness he was a kind soul and had very big heart. Rogelio truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. His generosity knew no bounds and his laugh could fill up a whole room.
Rogelio was an amazing husband and survived by his high school sweetheart Elvia Veliz. He was so proud of all his children for the things they have accomplished. Rogelio's most prized possession was his only grandson, Jiovanni Martinez. He loved to take care of him and enjoyed seeing his grandson grow. They had a special bond that could never be replaced.
Rogelio was known for also being an amazing coach. His free time went to teaching many kids baseball. He taught my brother and I how to play baseball which made us into the great players we were. He loved baseball and he taught us how to take constructive criticism and to let our game speak for itself.
Jon and I will hold those special memories in our hearts of my dad teaching us baseball and spending precious time together.
Lastly, he loved to watch sports and his favorite teams were the Spurs, Cowboys, and Reds.
