Rogelio Reyna
Sr.
August 1, 1953 – September 18, 2022
Rogelio Reyna Sr. passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the age of 69. He was born on August 1, 1953 in Gregory, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Reyna Sr., mother, Gloria Reyna, brothers, Rosindo Reyna Sr., Raul Reyna Sr., and sisters Maria Juanita Aguilar and Odessa Vega. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rose Marie Reyna, children: sons, Rogelio Reyna Jr, Javier Joaquin Reyna, daughter Bianca Marie Garza (Eddy). He is also survived by his brother, Pedro Reyna Jr. (Michael). Grandchildren: Alexandria Lorene Reyna, Rogelio Reyna III, Dora Marie Haro, Joe Henry Haro, Jr., Giovanni Israel Garza, Eddy David Garza Jr., and Jasmine Garza. Rogelio lived in Robstown, Texas for the first 13 years of his life and then his family moved to San Antonio. Rogelio and Rose Marie met and started dating at 14 years old, fell in love and married after high school. Rogelio graduated from Lanier and Rose Marie graduated from Fox Tech. Rogelio enjoyed barbecuing, working on cars, fixing things around the house, taking care of the grandkids, and visiting all his relatives. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, just listen, or talk. He will be greatly missed by his family, loved ones, and family friends. Rogelio was in relatively good health until he was admitted into the hospital for hyponatremia. An infection was suspected, and during testing, stage 4, metastatic cancer was found in the liver and the left lung. Upon receiving the news, he did not want any treatments and was taken home for hospice care. He passed peacefully, without pain, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart from the funeral home on Thursday, September 29, 2022 for a 10:00am Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
