Roger Gongora Garcia entered eternal rest on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the blessed age of 90. He was born September 30, 1932, in San Antonio, TX to Pedro and Maria Garcia. He served in the Army but retired from the United States Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant E9, he was proud to have served his Country. He is reunited in heaven with his parents; siblings Ramiro, Carlos, Gilbert, Roland, Maria de Jesus, Minerva, Esperanza. He is loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 70 years of marriage Elida C. Garcia; children Vivian Garcia, Roger Garcia, Jr (Cynthia), Hector Garcia (Lucy), Letecia Thornton (William), Rene Garcia, Henry Garcia; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; as well as extended family members and countless dear friends. He enjoyed fishing for a time in his life but mostly enjoyed just spending time in the company of his wife and family in his later years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a kind, loving and even tempered man who had a talent for making those around him feel special. Heaven has gained a treasured soul. He will live forever in our hearts.
