Roger Vasquez, born and raised in San Antonio, Texas died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Roger is survived by his wife, Zelda Perez Vasquez, son Alvino Santos Vasquez, daughter Mallory Jane Vasquez, mother Janie Vasquez, brother Gilbert Vasquez, nieces Juliette and Madison Vasquez, and three step-children, Candace Stewart, Ashley Martinez, and Edward Jones Jr. He also was very proud to be grandfather to Hannah, Sebastian, Edward, Addison, Abbygale, Emma, Johnathon, Emma, Oliver, Kadence, and Noah. He is preceded in death by his father Alvino Vasquez.
Roger was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved watching and attending sporting events with his wife and children. Roger had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. He enjoyed working with young adults as a mentor and youth minister. Roger was a veteran and proud to serve in the United States Army. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Castillo Mission Funeral Home with Pastor Abraham Diaz. The funeral procession will depart at 1:00 P.M. to Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at 520 General McMullen Dr. San Antonio, TX 78228.
