Obituary

Roland Robledo Tenorio

NOVEMBER 20, 1957 – MARCH 15, 2025

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved brother Roland Robledo Tenorio, who peacefully departed this life on March 15, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loving family.

Roland will be lovingly remembered by his children, Vincent (Kate) and Roselle, as well as Regina, his former wife and mother of his children; grandchildren Via and Summer; brother Ruben; sister Rita (Rickey); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Longoria Tenorio and Minnie Robledo Tenorio.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, Roland attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School before moving with his family to Dallas, Texas in 1964. He continued his education at St. Bernard Catholic School, W.H. Gaston Middle School, and Bryan Adams High School.

Roland dedicated much of his career to the family printing business, working alongside his father.  Later he became the owner of Tenorio Printing Company, where he completed projects for the State Fair of Texas, DART, DISD, as well as numerous athletic teams, area restaurants, and various organizations. He was also a member of the Decorators Union Local 756.

A man of generosity and service, Roland devoted much of his life to giving back to his community. He was an active volunteer with the Scottish Rite Hospital PALS group, organizing annual barbecues to support children with limb differences. He was also deeply involved in the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Explorer Scout, later serving as Scoutmaster for Troop 744, and sponsoring his daughter's Venture Scouting Crew. Passionate about education, he was a steadfast supporter of learning and mentorship, always encouraging those around him to pursue knowledge.

In his younger years, Roland competed in amateur boxing with USA Boxing in the Golden Gloves Tournament. He also had a love for softball, sponsoring and playing for the printer's league. His team, the Top Cats, won numerous championships. A true sports enthusiast, he faithfully supported Dallas teams and enjoyed spirited discussions about current events

Beyond his community involvement, Roland found joy in life's simple pleasures—camping, boating on Lake Ray Hubbard, cooking, and listening to blues music. He never turned down a good plate of barbecue and was always ready to share a meal and conversation with those he loved.

Family and friends are invited to honor Roland's life at a visitation beginning at 4:00 PM on March 30, 2025, followed by a rosary at 6:00 PM at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N. General McMullen, San Antonio, Texas. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on March 31, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 618 S. Grimes, San Antonio, Texas.

Roland's legacy of kindness, service, and love for his family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
