Gallardo
March 19, 1934 – December 21, 2021
Roque Gallardo passed away peacefully at age 87 on December 21,2021 with his wife Gloria by his side, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife Gloria Gallardo, daughters Terry Cash and Alice Gallardo-Perez, and sons Rocky, Richard, and Roger. He is also survived by his sister Ethel Gallardo, by grandkids, Tommy, Lucky, Rocky, Tammy, Sarah, Wendy, Francesca, Gabriella, Roman, and great grandkids, Audrey, Zoe, Alexander, Kiara, Tomas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roque was born in Big Spring, Texas in March of 1934. He was the second youngest of six siblings. He grew up in Pecos, Texas and loved playing football and baseball. Roque served three years in the United States Marine Corps, spending the majority of his time stationed in Japan. Roque and Gloria were married in San Antonio, Texas and had been married for over 60 years. He retired from civil service at Kelly AFB, TX in 1995. He enjoyed watching boxing while enjoying a glass of scotch.
Roque was a devout child of God with his wife of 60 years faithfully by his side. He was a dedicated husband and family man. He took the greatest of pride in his children's accomplishments. His passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of those who loved him. Until we meet again, may God hold him in the palm of his hand.
A mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church will be held in the name of Roque on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 8:30 AM. Family and friends are welcome.
Burial services will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Respectfully, burial will be private.
