Obituary

Rosa L. Martinez went to be with our Lord on May 12, 2022, at the age of 95.

Rosa was born on September 6, 1926, in Goliad Texas, to the late Eulogio and Esther R. Lozano. Rosa and her late husband Charles shared a 65-year adventure and marriage together. They leave behind a legacy that included 10 children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom were the pride of her life that she loved dearly. She will be remembered for her fabulous meals, she loved to cook for family and friends any chance she could. She had a green thumb and enjoyed her time outside in the garden. Her trips to the casino were always great times where she would try her luck gambling. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and in her free time watched Novelas, colored, and concurred one word search at a time.

She inspired those around her to be better individuals. Her capacity for generosity knew no bounds. She was someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. Rosa loved when family and friends got together. Those times exist in our memories and will be cherished forever. We loved her caring ways, she will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on.

There are no words that can express the feelings in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Martinez; daughter, Marie Alma Lopez; grandson, Jose Luis Hernandez; parents, Eulogio and Esther R. Lozano; and siblings, Sara, Mary, Esther, Amelia, Augustine, Joe, Ignacio, and Eloy.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca M. Brown, Rosa M. Hernandez, Nancy M. Rodriguez (Rudy), Terry M. Tamez, Anita M. Martinez (Daniel), Christine M. Ruiz (Rick), Ernestine M. Ovalle (Ernest), Raul Martinez (Rosario), Charlie Martinez (Josie); 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raul Lozano; in addition to extended family and friends.
