A brilliant ray of light and love has gone to be with our Heavenly Father on June 24, 2024. Rosalinda Cortinas passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Rosa was the third child born to the late Mary Alvarado, and the late Jose A. Alvarado, on July 16, 1971. She was a kind, caring, happy, generous, strong, resilient and beautiful soul.

Rosalinda is preceded in death by her father, Jose Alvarado, and her mother, Mary Alvarado.

She is survived by her husband of 30 plus years, Gregorio Cortinas; her son, Gregory Cortinas;  stepson, Jason Riojas; as well as her beloved sister, Lupita Colunga; brother, Jose Alvarado; sister, Juanita Sierra; and countless nieces and nephews.

Rosalinda reflected God's light and love to everyone she met. She was a hard-working individual who started working at the age of 17 to help support her family. She continued to work diligently until she retired from the San Antonio Police Department after over 30 years of service, during which time she received many decorated accomplishments. Her commitment to her job and her family was truly inspiring.

Rosalinda enjoyed playing Loteria and celebrating all the holidays with her family. Her energy for these activities brought joy to those who surrounded her, as she fully involved herself in the excitement of each moment, whether it was a thrilling wrestling event or festive holiday gatherings. Rosalinda's love for life, family and friends left us with so many loving memories we will carry forever. Rosalinda fought a hard battle with liver disease for over five years before she was called to be with our Heavenly Father. She will be missed immensely, but her memory will live in our hearts forever.
