Rosie V. Ramirez
September 4, 1935 - February 22, 2025
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother Rosie V. Ramirez. Born in San Antonio, Texas on September 4, 1935 to her loving parents Melecio and Francisca Villarreal. Rosie was married to her devoted husband, Roger Ramirez. She was called home to our Lord on February 22, 2025 at the age of 89 surrounded by her adoring family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Greissel (William, son-in-law) and son John R. Ramirez, Jr. (Grace, daughter-in-law), 6 grandchildren Bridget, Nanette, Andrea, John, Jacob, William, 7 great-grandchildren Louis, Araceli, Mariah, Daquan, Giavonni, Lamoni, Drelin, Joaquin and 10 great-great grandchildren Louis, Liliana, Aubrey, Luciano, Avery, Messiah, Makai, Reign, Gianna, G'Angelo. Let us take a moment to share some heartfelt reflections about Rosie.
She proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and had a passion for yard work, caring for her plants, and spending time on the porch with all her grandchildren. Additionally, she was fond of playing
bingo and traveling to casinos. Roger and Rosie founded the Yellow Rose Trucking Company. They shared a love for 18-wheelers and the open road. Rosie was a well known and respected advocate for her role in establishing the gambling industry in San Antonio. As we remember her, we celebrate a life well-lived, a love well-shared, and a legacy that will
continue to inspire for generations to come. Rosie was our pillar of strength and the foundation for our entire family. She will forever be cherished and never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her, and we will miss her tremendously.
