Silva, Sr.
December 13, 1958 – May 10, 2024
Roy R. Silva Sr. entered eternal rest on May 10, 2024, at the age of 65. He was born on December 13, 1958 in San Antonio Texas.
Roy is a graduate of Harlandale High School, class of 1977.He is a United States Veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Roy worked many years in the maintenance and warehouse department for Harlandale ISD and retired after 26 years of service. Not long after Roy retired from HISD, he returned to work at the HEB Warehouse. Everywhere he worked he always enjoyed making new friends.
While his children grew up Roy enjoyed coaching CYO softball and baseball at St. John Berchmans Church for many years. Roy enjoyed fishing, visiting Kickapoo Casino, watching sports, especially his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys. Roy is reunited in heaven with his parents Lorenzo Silva Sr. and Beatrice Silva, brother Joe Silva and sister Pauline Silva. Roy is survived by his wife Diana Silva, children Anita (Vincent)Castaneda, Yvette (Adan) Najera, Roy Jr (Maria)Silva and Christopher (Kassandra) Silva, step-children Deborah Garcia, Jay (Belinda) Gonzales and Jeremy Gonzales, sisters Lynda Jones, Dorothy Olivarez (Guillermo), Mary Louise Marin (Juan), brothers Anthony Silva, Joseph (Denice) Silva, Lorenzo Silva, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by his grandchildren Vinson, Austin, Viktor, Ava, Ethan, Andria, Eian and Everett. Roy will always be remembered for bringing laughter to everyone with his jokes. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Roy will be remembered forever and missed tremendously by all those who knew him.
Visitation to take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends will depart in procession at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
The family invites guests to a Memorial gathering at Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) 3001 Guadalupe St, San Antonio, TX 78207 from 12:00-3:00 following Burial.
