Ruben "Big Dawg" Mendoza passed peacefully on September 28th, 2023, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family and friends. He was 57 years old.

Ruben faithfully worked for the City of San Antonio, in the Bexar Metro Water Systems and the San Antonio Water System until he retired. He also worked for the City of Kirby. His last occupation was assisting in the Foster Grandparent Program where he would visit, read and spend time with children who were in the foster care system. He was dedicated to being a hard worker, helping hand, good friend, and happy soul. He adored participating in his community by coaching children's t-ball and baseball through Life Church of San Antonio. Ruben religiously attended Church every Sunday, including bible studies on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Through all his days he smiled and strived to teach others through his wisdom and experiences.

Ruben was a loved and loyal father, grandfather, brother, uncle. cousin and friend. He is preceded in death by Julian Mendoza Sr., Raymond Mendoza, Richard Mendoza and Gilberto Mendoza.

Ruben was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. Mother (Manuela Mendoza); Sister; (Sally Garcia, Maria Mendoza) Brother; (Julian Mendoza) 5 Children; (Preston, Jewels, Emerald, Lisa, and Ashley); 4 Grandchildren; (Joseph, Alex, Aamani, and Amaya); his numerous, cousins' nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends that he made over the years.

This isn't a time for mourning, this is a time to rejoice that he is finally home where he will be forever joyous and at peace. Until we meet again, we all love you "Big Dawg". Rest easy.
