Our beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Ruben Edward Rodriguez was born on October 1, 1962 and entered an eternal rest on January 16, 2021 at the age of 58 years old. He is survived by his children: Catherine Ambriz (and husband Adam), Ruben Rodriguez II, and Deborah Rodriguez and was blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren: Ariel Rodriguez, Gia Ambriz, Derek Rodriguez, Adaline Ambriz, and Kai Ambriz. He is preceded in death by his father Jesus Rodriguez and sister Cynthia Pinard and is survived by his mother Paula Rodriguez; his brothers: Michael Rodriguez (and wife Gloria), Carlos Rodriguez, and Roger Rodriguez; many cousins, nieces, a nephew, and numerous friends that were very much like family.
He LOVED his sports and was always chatting things up with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of our San Antonio Spurs and Missions, the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and Notre Dame's Fighting Irish and many of his teammates from his decades of playing softball, golf, and baseball turned into life-long friends. He LOVED his music and was always jamming along to R&B and Hip Hop from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He was always looking forward to some great seats for that next big concert. He LOVED his movies and was always watching (and quoting) action-packed and comedic favorites such as Armageddon, Independence Day, The Sandlot, Bad Boys, Friday, and The Fast and the Furious. Most importantly, he LOVED being around his family and was always looking forward to that next opportunity to break bread with his loved ones. There were so many little league games, jROTC events, egg hunts, Monster Jams, live concerts/shows, Spurs games, Missions games, softball/baseball games, Fiesta events, holiday barbecues/meals, jaunts to the beach; so, so many memories made with his children and grandchildren.
