Ruben V. Gonzalez Sr. passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of his children and family. He was 51 years old. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 17, 1973.

Ruben was a general contractor who took on the role of plumbing in his more recent years, he was probably the best plumber you knew but his pride was in being a father and a grandfather.

He treasured the memories he created with his loved ones. Whether it was thrifting, having lunch at his favorite places or fishing to name a few.

He enjoyed having lunch with his kids, a family member or a friend and then spending the rest of the day going to Goodwills all over San Antonio. If you knew Ruben, you knew he was always up for trying new places to eat or visiting his favorite restaurants over and over.

He would take every chance he had to go to Corpus to fish and enjoy a few days on the beach. He'd invite everyone out on the days he was there. There was nothing he found more rewarding than spending quality time with his loved ones. And if he wasn't out fishing, he was watching YouTube videos about fishing.

He was a big fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the San Francisco 49s. He was even a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.

He is also preceded in death by his father, Ramiro F. Gonzalez and sister, Sylvia J. Gonzalez.

Ruben is loved and will be missed by his son, Ruben Gonzalez Jr., daughters, Angelica Gonzalez-Herrera, Nicole Gonzalez, Gabriella Escobar-Gonzalez, and his dog, Trixie; 4 grandchildren and 1 grand-dog; his mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ruben will be greatly missed.
