February 8, 1950 - January 5, 2021

Ruben L. Ramos, aka, " El Gato Negro,"  beloved husband, father and  grandfather was called home to be with our Lord January 5, 2021, at the age of 70. He was surrounded by his loving family.  Ruben was born in San antonio, Tx, on February 8, 1950, to Benito and Juanita Ramos.

Ruben is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sylvia Ramos, his (5) sons; Isaac, Eric, Martin, Paul and wife Leslie, Joshua and Juanita.  Grandchildren; Isaac Jr, Madison, Candace Marie, Nathaniel, Paul Jr, Mathew, Naya, Isaeis, and Elizabeth. Brother's-in-law Joe and wife Terry Moreno, and David Arrellano and sister's-in-law Juanita contreras and Petra Cancino

Ruben is preceded in death by both his parents; Benito and Juanita Ramos, and granddaughter Alazae Gutierrez.

Ruben worked at Kelly A.F.B. as a Jet Engine Mechanic from; 1979 - 1991. He also worked at the V.A. Hospital from January 1992 - January 2021

Ruben proudly served in the United States Army and did one tour in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division from 1968 - 1970.  Being a Vietnam veteran was one of his greatest joy  in life and was very proud to have served and fought for his country.

His granddaughter Elizabeth, was the Joy of his Life.  Everyday he spent as much time with her as possible.  They had favorite cartoons and favorite games they would enjoy together. Elizabeth loved the outdoors because of her grandpa, always doing anything to give her the most fun, especially swimming.  He also taught her many things such as her first colors, letters, words, and many other things that make her who she is so far.

Ruben was a member of "Iglesia Bethel," San Antonio Tx. Ruben was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved fishing with his sons.  Ruben was a great problem solver who would take on difficult and unwanted projects around the house. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

We will always love you dad, will always have you in our hearts forever. We will never forget you. you were the greatest provider and greatest teacher. Thank you for always loving us all…
