Ruben P. Villa passed away on January 21, 2022, at the age of 74.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo Villa and Ofelia Pena Villa, and his brother, Abraham Villa, his sister-in-law, Lupe Villa, and family, Arturo and Frances Cuellar
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years Gloria A. Villa, his son David Aguirre, his daughter in law, Monica Ramirez-Aguirre, his grandchildren, Julia Aguirre, Emery Aguirre, David A. Aguirre (Marissa), and Edward Aguirre, and his four great grandchildren, Logan Aguirre, Amaya Aguirre, Philip Aguirre, and Charlotte Aguirre, his siblings, Fernando Villa, Joe Villa (Anna), Yolanda Collins (Chet), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, the many who considered him grandpa, in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
Ruben was born on September 10, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas. He accomplished so many incredible things in life but his family that he loved so much was his proudest. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds as he was someone who would help anyone in need. Ruben worked all his life, but his number one job was working at Trinity University. He was the person who knew every player statistic and all his family and friends' birthdays and phone numbers. He loved his San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Astros. He enjoyed trying his luck playing lotto on a regular basis. Ruben loved to watch Adam Sandler's Water boy. He inspired those around him to be a better person. He loved his family and especially loved the memories made together with them. Ruben brought immense joy to those around him. We loved his caring ways, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Words cannot express the feeling in our hearts.
Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.
