Rudolfo (Rudy) G. Luna, a veteran of the Vietnam War, was called home to be with our Lord on February 3, 2022, at the age of 74. Rudy was born on January 4,1948 and was a resident of San Antonio. He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny (Rocky) G, Luna and Romana G. Luna, his nephews Gabriel Talamantez and Sgt. Steven Talamantez.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Jane (Vica) G. Luna; children SFC. Rocky Luna (Mary), Jose Luna (Destiny), Nelda Gelia (Mike), Farina Luna (Roberto) and JC Luna. Rudy was also blessed with stepchildren Abel Arce, Anna Arce, Arthur, Veronica, Debra, Victor and Alyssa; sisters Hope Talamantez, Rosemary Cerna, Rachel Martinez (MSG. David); sister-in-law Elisa Luna as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Following the legacy left by his father and uncles, Rudy began his career in the US Army in 1969. He served in Vietnam, Panama, Korea, Germany and various other assignments in the United States. After 20 years of service Rudy retired at the rank of Sergeant First Class(E-7) in 1989. Rudy will receive full military honors as he is laid to rest at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery
Rudy was loved and will be greatly missed. He will remain in our hearts forever.
