July 14, 1956-January 24, 2021

Salvador C. Escobedo Jr, born July 14, 1956, went into the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday January 24, 2021, at the age of 64.  He graduated from Edgewood High School Class of 1976 and worked for Lackland AFB for numerous years. He enjoyed spicy foods and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.  He enjoyed being around family and treasured the beautiful memories he shared with Gracie.  He was a devoted pet owner loving his dogs and cats especially Turko, June, Diamond, Penny, Gray, Tiger, Puppy, Bow, Brownie and Junior.

He is preceded in the death by his parents, Salvador and Magdalena Escobedo, Brother David Escobedo, Brother-in- law Allen Steward III ("Bee") and grandchildren Domink and Alize Raye Escobedo. He is loved and will be missed by spouse of 34 years Elsa Escobedo and daughter Amanda Escobedo, brothers and sisters Juan Escobedo (Helen), Esteban Escobedo (Irene), Alice Steward, Tito Escobedo, Sylvia E. Sanchez (Alfred) and sister-in-law Josephine Escobedo; and nieces and nephews Steven, Leslie, Jennifer, Edward, Elizabeth, Emmanuel, Shanna, Allen, Alex, Melody, Zachary, Tiffany, Michael, Emeterio, David (Moses), Jacob, Joseph, John, Jeremy, Josielynn, Justin and numerous extended family and friends.  He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Castillo Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. As a preventive measure due to the Covid-19 pandemic no more than 40 people will be allowed at one time and mask/face coverings must be worn and social distancing maintained.

A formal procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Interment to follow at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery III.
