Santos Rolando Mora passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Friday evening, September 16, 2022, at the age of 84. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother; Santos is at peace with our Heavenly Father and will be greatly missed.

Santos was born on January 26, 1938, In San Antonio, TX to the late Isaac and Conception (Hernandez) Mora. He and his sister were given a beautiful foundation from his parents to which he built a successful life upon. Santos and his wife Esther R. Mora shared a beautiful sixty-five-year marriage and adventure together. He cherished his most precious gifts from the Lord, MaryAnn, Roland, Janet, Annette, and Joseph, his children.

Santos was a proud veteran of the United Sates Air Force. He dedicated himself to employers that made impacts on the everyday lives of those in his community he swore to always protect. Employed with Handy Andy, Auto Works, and then Meals on Wheels, these were places during times he would form lasting relationships while making deep impressions on each person who met him. He was always kind and could bring a smile to anyone's face. He was a member of the American Legion JFK Post 485, a place where he and his fellow veterans could come together to play rounds of pool, go dancing, and reminisce about times of the past and present. A proud outdoors man, he enjoyed the chance to catching something large fishing any open body of water, applying his knowledge and patience into his hobby of birdwatching, or just simply sitting outdoors listening to Tejano music. Santos truly enjoyed the simple pleasure in life; great conversations, making someone smile, feeling hopeful for the future of those he knew and loved. He greatest joy was when his family would come together and celebrate the beautiful moments of life. Those times exist now only in our memories and will be cherished forever.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Concepcion and Isaac Mora.

He is survived by his wife: Esther R. Mora; children: MaryAnn Vega, Roland Mora, Janet Lee Zepeda, Annette Marie Escamilla and Joseph Isaac Mora; grandchildren: Angela Aguilar, Joe Vega, Viviana Vega Louviere, Katherine Escamilla, Miranda Rendon, Matthew Rendon; great grandchildren: Kalista Escamilla, Abigail, Ashton, Micah and Dominic; sister: Genevieve Najera; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass at 11:00 am followed by interment at San Fernando II Catholic Cemetery.
