Retired SFC Alejandro Ramos Torres
May 26, 1936 - August 12, 2022


Alejandro was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the age of 86.  He passed peacefully surrounded by his beloved family.  He was born on May 26, 1936 in Cementville, TX to Seferino and Francis Torres.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Francis and Father Seferino, sisters Gloria Martinez and Josephine Torres.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Maria S Torres, his daughter Esmeralda Vega (Antonio), Grandsons Mark Vega, Alejandro (Alexandra), Christopher (Raelynn), 5 Great grandchildren Alejandro, Annalissia, Antonio, Christopher, Rosanna, niece Mary Alice (Fred), as well as extended family members.

He was a Proud Veteran of the United States Army. He served in many different Airborne Units such as the 82nd, 101st, 173rd, 508th, 509th Divisions. He served in the Vietnam War, Korean War and many tours around the world.  He was awarded a Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Badge (Rifle), Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle).

Anyone who knew Alejandro knew his greatest love was his Family. From his wife of 61 years, his daughter, son in law, his Beloved Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, & his niece. He loved Family gathering, BBQ's, his music, working on his yard with his grandsons, and his books. He always made sure his family never went without. Always reminding Us to Thank God for Our Blessings. To never take life or things for granted.

He will be dearly missed by his Family but will live forever in our hearts.

Visitation begins at 4:00pm on
Friday, August 26, 2022, at
Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N. General McMullen, with Military Honors at 6:00pm & Rosary to follow.
