Shirley Ann (Speegle) Romero, 66 years of age, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on November 07, 2025, after a losing her battle with Breast Cancer.

Shirley was born on April 24, 1959, to father, Harper Speegle and mother, Rosalinda (Puente) Cardenas in San Antonio, TX. She met soulmate Ruben Romero in January 2000, and they later married on August 31, 2007. Shirley had two daughters Brenda L. Kirkland (wife Erica Almeida), and Leslie Suhr (husband Tyrone Sauer), and had three grandchildren, Nicolas Kirkland, Ethan Suhr, and Zoe Suhr.

In 2024, Shirley retired and spent her time in the church, gardening, loving her family and terrier dogs (Maggie and Lauren).

Shirley was predeceased by father, Ramon M. Cardenas Sr., mother, Rosalinda P. Cardenas, brother Jose Arturo Cardenas, and brother Christopher Cardenas. She is survived by her father Harper Speegle, six sisters Sofia Gonzales (husband Rudy Bernal), Cynthia Cardenas, Annette C. Perez (husband Mark Perez), Leticia Blackmon (husband Edward Blackmon), Debbie Speegle, Diana Speegle Platz (husband Robert Platz), two brothers Ramon M. Cardenas Jr., and Robert R. Cardenas (wife Mercedes Saenz), to include many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing services will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on November 14, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Cremation to follow.
