Steve "el Tigre" Pantoja was unexpectedly called home to the Lord on Friday, April 8, 2022.

Born June 28, 1972, in San Antonio Tx, he was preceded in death by his parents Eladio and Esperanza Pantoja and sister Rose Marie Lucas.

Steve attended Edgewood High School, The University of Texas at San Antonio and The University of Arizona proudly earning his master's degree in Spanish Culture and Literature.

Steve will be loved and greatly missed by his wife of 20 years, his high school sweetheart, Delia, sons Carmelo and Miguel, brothers Miguel and Reynaldo, sister Maria del Carmen, nieces and nephews Amanda, Justin, Madeleine, Sasha, Kay, Edie, Isabella, Tristan, Michael, Malcom, Pedro III and many extended family members and friends.

Steve was a mentor, friend, trusted colleague, compassionate teacher and soccer coach at IDEA Monterey Park College Prep. He adored anything and everything outdoors whether on the soccer field, grilling steaks, camping at Garner State Park or hitting the waves at South Padre Island. He lived his life with passion and enthusiasm.

He was a loving and caring father to Carmelo "Melo" and Miguel "B" always motivating, encouraging and pushing them to do their best. He always left a larger-than-life impression on everyone he met, and he made friends everywhere he went.

Steve, may the soccer fields in Heaven be as grand as you ever imagined to play the beautiful game.

Visitation will be from 4 – 8 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N. General Mc Mullen with the recitation of the Rosary at 6 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 27 ^th at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd with reception to follow at church hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pantoja Soccer Scholarship benefiting IDEA MoPa FC.
