Obituary
Steven Joe Rodriguez, beloved husband of Maria Rodriguez, passed peacefully surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was 63 years old, born on September 25, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas.

His life was influenced by strength, kindness, love, and courage. Steve worked at different hotels and residential facilities in maintenance and engineering. He was knowledgeable in many areas, his experience was valuable, and he took so much pride in his work. He was a proud and active member at The Door Christian Fellowship Church; his involvement included leading and giving his time to church activities, being a prayer warrior, the drama team, serving as usher and children's church. His influence impacted so many lives in different ways. In his free time, he enjoyed running 5k's, shopping, plants and he was handy man to countless friends and family. His generosity was boundless, he was always ready to help anyone with support, encouragement, and guidance.

Steven was a strong and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  As a husband, he was protective and caring, always placing the needs of his wife before his own. As a father, he was the best any child could ask for because he was present and supportive. As a grandfather, he was kind, loving, and always putting a smile on his grandchildren's faces. He truly loved and valued the time he spent with those dearest to his heart. His loss is incomprehensible but with the strength he taught and his faith we carry on his memory and know one day we will be reunited together once again.

He is preceded in death by Joe Rodriguez III, Maria S. Garza, Enrique Leon, Maria Leon, and Ricky Leon.

Family members include his wife of 43 years Maria Rodriguez; children, Henry Joe Rodriguez, Gennie Lynn Rodriguez, Marcy Nicole Perez (Tony) and Kevin Zachariah Rodriguez (Chelsea Castillo); 9 grandchildren, Jolynn Moreno, Cadance Perez, Luke Perez, Vanity Vasquez, Gemma Rodriguez and Aurora Rodriguez; siblings, Rose Rodriguez, Diane Rodriguez, JoAnn Rodriguez, Isreal Rodriguez, Adam Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez and Richard Rodriguez; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive guest at The Door Christian Fellowship Church for visitation on Friday, September 22, 2023, where a funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm.
