Sylvia "Barbie" Fuentez went to be with Our Lord on January 26, 2022, at the age of 64. Sylvia was born August 29, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cleto Barerra Sr. and Blanca P Barerra; her sister  Guadalupe Perez; her brothers Raymond Barrera, Cleto Barerra Jr, Gregorio Barerra, and David Barerra; and niece Mary Helen Barerra Davis.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jose M. Fuentez; her children Joe M. Fuentez Jr. with Marcee Krkosa and Ruben Fuentez with Brenda Martinez; grandchildren Joey M. Fuentez III and Priscilla Ashley Aldape with Johnny Aldape; great grandchildren Nevaeh Aldape and Callie Aldape; loving sisters Virginia Gonzalez, Clara Delgado,Elida Ortegon, and Maria De la luz Cruz; brothers Santiago Barerra and Ricardo Barerra; as well as numerous nieces and nephews,  whom she also loved dearly.

Sylvia was a full time wife and mother to her family. She loved vibrant colors and many different styles but absolutely loved Frida Kahlo style and what she stood for, as well as Mary Engelbreit, to whom she devoted an entire room. She loved designing and decorating rooms, baskets, gifts for loved ones or friends, and anything she could put her love into.  Sylvia was very grateful for her family and friends.  She found God's love and showed that love to everyone, as this is what God showed her purpose in life to be.  She made not only her family feel loved but anyone who came into contact with her.  Sylvia felt happiest when she made people smile and feel warm inside. She served God and her family to her fullest, and our hearts will forever miss her beautiful smile and loving nature.  She will be missed by so many who she touched.  She will forever remain in our hearts.

The family invites you to a Holy Rosary to be held Wednesday, February 23, at 6 PM at Castillo Mission Funeral Home.  Services will be held Thursday, February 24, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church at 9:30 AM.  The burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
