Sylvia Mary
Rangel
September 14, 1937 – December 5, 2024
Sylvia M. Rangel entered through The Portal of Glory and into the presence of God on December 5, 2024. As a vapor that appears and then vanishes, she went on 87 years and three months after her birth on September 14, 1937 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Sylvia's husband, the late, Rev. Frank Rangel Sr., her two sons, Freddie and Rudolfo, and all other loved ones that have passed from this life, in-Christ, have surely extended their arms and embraced her as they welcomed her at her celebrative entry in Heaven, but not before meeting her Master who surely said, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
Her sons and daughters-in-law: Rev. Frank III and Luisa; Robert and Isabel; Gilbert and Joann; Richard; Deborah; Rose; their children and their children's children testify to their mother's/mother-in-law's/grandmother's Christian testimony and her walk with the Lord.
Mother had little to claim as to what this life deems as success, but what she leaves behind in our family's memory is that she remained in this life as long as she could that she may share her love for her sons and their families while being the greatest "mom" and "grandma" we could ever have!
To mother's credit and to God's Glory and Honor, prior to her husband's passing in 1990, she was, for ten years, by his side serving as missionaries to San Luis Potosi and other areas in Mexico. As a Pastor's wife, she supported her husband's Pastoral Ministry for several years at Aposento Alto Assemby of God Church here in San Antonio, Texas. She was also a faithful and loyal member at Galilee Worship Center Church here in San Antonio, Texas throughout the last eighteen years under her son's Pastoral Ministry.
During her life, mother trusted her Lord Who beared Calvary's Cross for her Salvation. Her temporary tabernacle which God blessed her with now rests and will be returned to the earth. But she, her soul and spirit, now rejoices in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
And now, we, her family, whom walk this life "in Christ," shall likewise continue our race for the rest of our days as mother did until we reunite with her and the rest of our loved ones now in Heaven. What a family reunion that will be! May our Heavenly Father and His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, receive all Glory and Honor forever!
