Teresa
Diaz
September 19, 1958 – May 1, 2025
In Loving Memory of Teresa "Terry" Diaz
A Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister & Friend
Teresa "Terry" Diaz, a radiant soul who brought light, laughter, and rhythm to
every space she entered, passed away on May 01,2025. Though she was deaf and
partially blind, Terry lived her life with fearless joy and unshakable strength, never
letting her disabilities hold her back from dancing, loving, or exploring the world
around her.
Terry was known across the South Side community not just for her bright spirit but
also for her presence. She was often seen riding the bus around the southside.
Terry was always smiling, always engaged, and always asking about her family
and friends. She never missed a birthday and never forgot to ask how everyone was
doing. That was Terry—thoughtful, caring, and endlessly full of heart.
One of her greatest joys was dancing at the flea market, where she was known as
the best dance partner around. Tejano music was her favorite and it didn't need to
be loud for her to feel it — she carried the rhythm in her soul. Terry was truly the
life of every party, moving through life with grace, humor, and music in her heart.
She was a devoted mother to her son, John Diaz, whom she cherished deeply and
adored beyond measure. Her two granddaughters, Araceli and Catalina Diaz, were
the light of her life. Her love for them was boundless, and she was never shy about
showing it.
Terry's passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her
memory, laughter, and love will live on through her family, her community, and
everyone who had the honor of sharing space with her.
She is survived by her beloved son John Michael Diaz; granddaughters Araceli
Diaz and Catalina Diaz; her loving siblings Amelia Gallegos and Betty Ann Diaz;
and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her spirit forward and will
miss her deeply.
Teresa's life was a testament to love, perseverance, and joy. Though she has left
this world, her memory and the light she brought to so many lives will live on
forever.
Rest well, Terry. Your song will never fade.
