Teresa T. Medina, a faithful woman of Christ, and matriarch of an ever-growing family, was born to her father, Jesus Treviño, and her mother, Teresa Gonzalez, on May 1st, 1930.
They lived a humble life, residing on the west side of San Antonio, Texas. At a young age, she met the love of her life, Mr. Alfonso R. Medina, and were married in May
of 1949. From that union, they began a family that will forever honor her for her kindness, her selflessness, her wisdom, and her perseverance. She passed away peacefully
amongst family, and went to be with the Lord on February 7th, 2023.
Teresa performed compassionately, and with purpose in all her endeavors. Early in life, she was a talented seamstress of fine clothing. Later, she would dedicate her life to
children, beginning with her time at SAISD. She would become a professional in creating and handling ceramic art, inspiring many to discover their own artistic gift. She lived
as an active parishioner at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, and worshipped there for decades. Most recently, she spent years feeding the children at
Parent/Child Incorporated until her retirement in 1992. All the while, she would be a devoted mother, a gracious wife, and a saintly grandmother to her grateful family that
adored her beautiful, caring spirit.
Teresa was the last of her siblings to gain their angel wings. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Gonzales, Santiago Gonzales, Eloy Varela; and her sisters,
Consuelo Gomez, and Sulema Sanchez, her twin.
She lived a life of endless love. A love that poured into her son, Alphonso T. Medina (Marie); her daughters Gloria M. Lacy, and Sylvia A. Rodriguez (David);
9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; her aforementioned siblings; and hundreds of friends and extended family she met throughout her
nearly 93 years of life. At the time of her passing, she and Alfonso were within their 73rd year of marriage. Their profound love for each other will endure beyond this world,
until they are reunited, once again, in heaven.
Her memories are cherished. She will be dearly missed. We love you.
