Thelma Gallegos Barrios was born on January 26, 1949 in Devine, Texas. Thelma was called home to be with our dear Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the age of 72.

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Antonio and Cristina Gallegos; her brother, Rogelio Gallegos and brothers-in-law, Roman DeLeon and  Manuel Aguilar.  She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Steven Barrios and her three fur babies; Ky, Timmy and Buddy; siblings, Alma DeLeon and Margie Aguilar; sister-in-law, Mercedes Gallegos and numerous nieces and nephews, uncle, aunts, cousins and friends and neighbors.

Thelma loved spending time at her cousins Ed and Elisa's ranch in Devine, and other family members' ranches. Elisa was not only her cousin but more like a sister.

Thelma worked for Edgewood School District from 1971 -1983 at Gardendale Elementary School. Thelma had a big heart of gold that was always helping everyone.  She was the life of the party; she always had a big smile on her face even when she was sick. Thelma enjoyed dancing and traveling, ceramic and also caring for her neighbor's dog Marley, Daisy and Sam, whom she treated as her own dogs.  Special thanks to her nieces Ester Ybarra, who took special care of her to the very end.  We will always Cherish the special memories she left everyone.  It's not goodbye, it's until we need again.
