Thelma D Garza was born October 30, 1934 in Monterrey Mexico.

She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on July 1, 2023 at the age of 88.

She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 68 years Genaro C. Garza, her parents Tomas & Bernardina Diaz, 7 siblings, and one great grand baby. Thelma is survived by her daughters Thelma Bennett (John), Rosario Hernandez (Henry), Sandra Ramirez (Marcus), sons Genaro D. Garza  (girlfriend Adriana Ibarra) and George Garza (Catherine).

Thelma also raised her niece Georgina Torres and nephew Marco A. Torres.

She was a beloved grandmother of 12.  great grandmother of 16, and a great great grandmother of 1.

She spent her life working alongside her husband at their grocery store and raising her children. She loved having Sunday gatherings and cooking for her whole family so that we could all be united. She enjoyed crocheting and playing the piano.  She was a fierce woman who left her home for a better life in a new country to provide for her family, a brave act of love that would quite literally be the beginning of the dozens of people we call family.

What an absolute gift she was to us and all that knew and loved her, and now we are filled with a steady peace knowing that she's in her eternal home with our Lord and our father watching over us and guiding us until we unite again.
