Tomas Arturo Gonzalez, born on January 27, 1943, was called home to be with our Lord on June 28, 2023 at the age of 80. He is reunited in Heaven with father, Amadeo L. Gonzalez; mother, Carlotta Gonzalez and siblings; Amadeo I. Gonzalez, Jr., Graciela Estella Rangel and Ruben Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez is loved and will be greatly missed by his spouse of 56 years, Modesta S. Gonzalez, children; Debra Ann Gonzalez, Tomas Arturo Gonzalez II and his wife Maria and James Alex Gonzalez and his wife Maria del Rosario, grandchildren; Tessa Olivia, Marissa Alexis, Ian Thomas, James Alex II, Matthew Isaiah and Joshua Michael; great-granddaughter, Ophelia Bloom; siblings, Hector Hugo Gonzalez, Luis Humberto Gonzalez (Sophia), David Omar Gonzalez (Hilda), Noe Eleodoro Gonzalez (Gloria), Velma Gonzalez-Zertuche (Rene), and Daniel Ernesto Gonzalez (Rosa). Mr. Gonzalez will also be remembered by numerous loving cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Tomas Arturo loved to spend time with his Beautiful wife Modesta just doing whatever it was as long as they were together. He also loved to spend time with his grandkids on the weekends and loved to play the piano for them. Tomas Arturo also loved to play Happy Birthday on his piano & harmonica to his wife, boys, daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren EVERY year on their birthdays.
He proudly served in the Army National Guard for 7 years. He was a professional musician known as " Sauce". A Texas Keyboardist and Band Leader of the Westside Horns. He was a pioneer in incorporating the B3 Hammond organ in Chicano and Tejano Music in the 1960's. A staple with many bands such as Sunny & The Sun-Liners, Dough Sahm, Ruben Ramos, Randy Garibay, Texas Tornados, Bits of Soul, Mother Truck, Little Joe and La Family, Roy Montelongo, and many other numerous bands.
He will be missed by so many family, friends and fans around the world. His music and legacy will live on.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
