It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tomasita Vega, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, on October 15, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on March 07,1958 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Santos Bustillos and Maria de Jesus Pena Cardenas. She is reunited with her parents and brother Juan Manuel Cardenas Pena. She lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Tomie was the heart of our family, known for her Strength, Love, and Compassion. She was a devoted caregiver, who touched countless lives with her caring abilities and wisdom.

She is survived by Celestino (Joe) Martinez, daughter Kristine Vega and Gabriel Castillo, Sons: Carlos Jr Vega, Brandon and Victoria Martinez, Sisters Carmen Romo, Martha and Jose Cruz, Filiberta (Vety) and Joe Lopez, Maria Limon (Lupe) and Michael Montalvo, Brothers, Santos Cardenas, and Jesse Cardenas. Grandchildren: MaryJesse Vega, Anthony Alvarado, Michael Vega, Mia Moreno, Alivia Vega, Meghan Vega. Andrew Vega, Alexa Vega, Amber Vega, Amanda Vega, Ayden Carlos Vega, Zeron Martinez, Zaraiya Martinez and Great Grandchildren Andre Bear & Lorenzo Tiger Jimenez who will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy of love, strength and resilience will live on in all of us. A celebration of her life will be held on October 24, 2025, at Castillo Funeral Home on General McMullen.
