Obituary

Tommy L. Garcia (Woody), beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished brother, passed away on April 27th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Born on March 12, 1975, in San Antonio, Texas.

Tommy's life was marked by a passion for baseball and an unyielding competitive spirit. During his youth and high school years, Tommy's prowess on the baseball field was unmatched, reflecting his deep love for the sport. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Yvonne, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love and family.

After graduating from high school, Tommy bravely joined the Navy, serving his country with honor and distinction. Stationed in various locations around the world, including Corpus Christi, Iceland, Guam, and Hawaii, Tommy's adventurous spirit and commitment to duty shined brightly. Throughout his military career, Tommy's family grew, welcoming daughters Brianna and Taylor, and son Ty, whom he and Yvonne raised together. Despite the challenges of military life, Tommy's dedication to his family never wavered, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Tommy's military service was cut short serving 15 years due to health reasons, leading to his honorable discharge in 2008. Returning to his roots in San Antonio, Tommy took great pride in watching his children flourish and graduate from the same highschool, instilling in them the same values of integrity and perseverance that defined his own life.

In his leisure time, Tommy found joy in playing softball and passionately cheering on his beloved Crimson Tide University of Alabama and the Pittsburgh Steelers, sharing his enthusiasm with family and friends alike.

Tommy Garcia leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife Yvonne Garcia, mother Yvonne Martinez, In-Laws Susie & Armando Lopez, 3 children Brianna, Taylor & Ty, 2 grandchildren Xander & Jiovanni, brother Eddie Garcia, 3 nephews Tommy, Eddie & Max, 1 niece Emma and a host of extended family and friends, all of whom will deeply miss his warmth, humor, and unwavering love.
