Obituary

Tranquilina "Lina" Martinez, age 59, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026 in her home in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.


Lina was born June 23, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence filled every room with laughter and life.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Martinez Sr. ; her children Robert Jr. , Monica (Anthony), Gabriel (Emma); and her cherished grandchildren Isaiah, Layli, Noah, Anthony lll, Sir, Aliviah, Mariah, Alexandria, Benicio, and Maria. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who loved her deeply.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Patricia Zamora; her brothers Rafael and Timothy; her sister Marie; and her son, Michael Martinez.


Lina worked as an accountant for many years before dedicating herself fully to her home and family, as a homemaker Lina had many talents passions, she loved gardening, and was incredibly creative with crafts, an amazing cook, and a gifted musician. Her home was always full of food, music, and love.


Known for her sarcastic wit , silliness, and unforgettable sense of humor, Lina truly was the life of the party.  She loved life fiercely and often said " If you get sick, you didn't eat here", and " It isn't a party if someone doesn't go home bleeding or crying. " Those who knew her know these words were always said with laughter and love.


A woman of strong Catholic faith, Lina lived with generosity, joy, and deep devotion to her family. She will be remembered as a loving and beautiful wife, mother, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend, whose legacy lives on through the many lives she touched.


Services


Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13th 2026, from 4 PM to 8 PM. A castigio funeral home located 520 North McMullen Drive. A deacon will lead a prayer service at 6 p m.


Closing Note


The family of Tranquilina "Lina" Martinez would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all family members, friends, and loved ones for their prayers, kindness and support during this difficult time. Lina's life was a blessing, her memory, a treasure, and she will be deeply  and forever loved.
