Trinidad Barrera
Villalpando
June 7, 1936 – March 14, 2021
Trine was one of 14 children. In her younger years she was relied upon to help care for her younger siblings. Her parents were a migrant working family and everyone contributed. She learned to engage her natural skills of resourcefulness, creativity, and determination to find a job of her own. She went to work at Luby's as a preteen where she met a good friend who would eventually introduce her to the love of her life, Humberto (Beto) Villalpando Sr. The couple married and raised five children. Throughout her life Trine had a passion for protecting and maintaining family cohesiveness which she instilled in her own children. Her children credit her as being a woman of courage and strength who was full of life, love and a good sense of humor. She enjoyed getting together with her siblings especially in their younger years. She was married to Beto for 43 years until his passing in 1999.
In her life Trine enjoyed sewing, treasure hunting at flea markets, garage sales and thrift stores. She loved her Antique dolls, Precious moments and Disney figurines, decorating her home in seasonal décor especially at Christmas time.
As Trine's journey came to an end she was blessed to see, hear and feel the love of her siblings and family. She passed peacefully on March 14th, 2021 surrounded by her 5 children.
Visitation will take place at Castillo Mission Funeral Home on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 3:30pm until 6:30pm. A celebration of Trine's life will take place at 4:00pm.
