Obituary

Vanessa Martinez Sanderson was born on February 28, 1984, in San Antonio, Texas and passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family and many friends. She was 38 years old.

During Vanessa's adult life, she had a love for children which attracted her to working in various day cares in San Antonio and in Germany, taking care of newborns to toddlers, later becoming a teacher to toddlers from ages 6 months to 5 years in age. Vanessa attended Sandra Day O'Connor and Marshall High schools. In 2004, she married and became a military wife, where she moved and lived in Germany for two years. When she returned from Germany, she continued her education to attend and graduate from Hallmark University in San Antonio where she earned her first degree in Electronic Engineering in 2007 and second degree in Computer Networking in 2013. Vanessa applied her education and worked at Verizon, Citibank, Security Service and UT Health San Antonio where she worked in their IT Departments. Vanessa would volunteer and help in serving the homeless at the Life Restore Church. She also loved to cook and bake and had a talent in crocheting, often repaired computers & phones during her spare time.  She had a great sense of humor and was funny, and her smile, laughter and spirit could lift anyone up. She was so easy to talk to and made friends everywhere she went. She loved being around her friends. She was the best Mom, and one of her greatest accomplishments in life was the love she had for her two beautiful daughters, Arianna & Charlee! She loved her country music and sports and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs!

Vanessa is also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Conrado & Carmen Martinez; and maternal grandparents, Pablo & Consuelo Caballero.

She is survived by her two beautiful daughters; Arianna & Charlee Martinez; parents, Tony & Yolanda Martinez; sisters, Yvonne & Alyssa Martinez; her only niece, Monique Day; and Godparents, Conrad & Margie Martinez.
