Victor Martinez
Jr.
September 2, 1949 – September 10, 2023
Victor Martinez Jr went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 10, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74. He was born on September 2, 1949, in Evanston, Illinois, a son of the late Maria and Victor Martinez.
Victor was a proud father, grandfather, brother and veteran who lived his life like their was no tomorrow. He was proud of his time in service with the United States Army and upon his completion of service he remained proud of his country and patriotisms. Victor was a member of the VFW 1533 and was an active member and volunteer for any and all events held. He enjoyed the company of others and any reason to celebrate life he was ready for. Always the first to cook and bake for any event or make flower arrangements and he would go all out on holiday celebrations. He truly loved life and was the center of a party, the one who smiled with excitement as he danced or had ultimate fulfillment knowing those around him enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He loved making people smile constantly joking to get a laugh from his audience of friends and family. He was a joy to be around and was loved by his community of many friends. His lose is incomprehensible however through sure and certain faith we have hope that one day we will all be reunited once again.
In addition to his parents, Victor Martinez Sr and Maria L. Martinez, he is also preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles.
Family members include his children, Jason V. Martinez and Lorissa Rodriguez (Joseph P. Rodriguez); 3 grandchildren, Devon C. Martinez, Aaron R. Rodriguez and Amanda J. Rodriguez; siblings, Asencio Martinez, Cleotilde Martinez, Berta Alberts, Joe Martinez, and Omaida Erickson; as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins living in Chicago Il, Laredo Tx, and Cotulla Tx; in addition to numerous extended loved ones and friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Castillo Funeral Home for visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and a Rosary Service will be conducted at 6:00 pm.
A committal service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery will be held at a later time. Details will be announced once finalized.
