Vidal M. Castro, age 80, was called to be with the Lord on June 19, 2020.
He met the love of his life, Yolanda De Leon, when he was only 9 years old. They married and 61 years later their love was still strong. Early in their marriage, Vidal was a mechanic and later became a truck driver. Driving an 18 wheeler became his life time occupation. This job was very well suited for him because he loved people. He never met a stranger and became life long friends with people from all over the United States. Vidal had such a passion to care for others. He will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his only son, Eddie.
Vidal is loved and will be missed by his wife of 61 years, Yolanda; daughter Liz Wallin; daughter Eleanor Van Wagner and son in law Todd Van Wagner; granddaughters Lauren Van Wagner and Haley Brinkley and her husband Reilly Brinkley; numerous sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will be forever grateful for the special care nurses Alyssa, Janieh and Kasey showed him. As well as aides Cindy, Lilly, and Sheila.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association.
