Virginia G. Lopez passed away peacefully after a fierce battle with cancer on August 24th, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was 56 years old and was born in Reynosa, Mexico on September 23rd, 1967.

Virginia met the love of her life, Joe A. Lopez, at the University of Texas at San Antonio in the Summer of 1986, and they were later married on December 17th, 1988. She graduated with a bachelor's degree of Arts in Psychology and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. Virginia served for 5 years in Airfield Operations during the Desert Shield and Desert Storm Operations. After her service, she dedicated herself to raising her children, and later pursued a career in administrative and executive roles for her community, church, and government contracting. She also earned her Master of Business Administration from UTSA in 2017 and Project Management Professional Certification.

Virginia was a loving mother, a gracious wife, and above all, she is a child of God. She was a devoted follower of Christ and was heavily involved in her church community and children's and youth ministries.

Virginia is loved and will be missed by her children, Anastasia (Krishan), David (Dana), Elisabeth (Joshua), Matthew, and Steven; along with two grandchildren, Elliotte and Lucian; and numerous siblings, Consuelo, Filiberto (Arnulfa), Bertha, Maria De Jesus, Atanacio (Marina), Jose Rosario, Carmen, Daniel (Theresa), Norma (Scott), Raul (Lien); as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her siblings Martin and Lupita.
